The 16th Cloud Forum of Capacity Building Seminar of China AMBA&BGA Member Institutions was held online at 3 PM on May 14, 2022. Deans, vice deans and project leaders from nearly 100 Chinese AMBA&BGA member institutions attended the cloud forum. The forum was chaired by Professor Wang Chongming, who is the senior professor of liberal arts in Zhejiang University, the director of Global Entrepreneurship Research Center of Zhejiang University and international certified consultant of AMBA&BGA in China.
First, Professor Wang reviewed the meeting spirits of the 12 forums on ability and course construction since July 2020 and further introduced how to take the international certification capacity building as the new emphasis to promote the high-quality development of college, speed up the construction of first-rate majors and discipline upgrading, and improve the influence of the college in global business and the new idea of being the leader.
Then, Professor Wang divided the domestic universities into 8 categories according to the process and steps of BGA certification, and analyzed how different categories of institutions develop action plans and empowerment strategies. He also suggested that each school should take both the responsibility management and sustainable development as the strategic elements of the colleges’ vision, to guide the improvement of training programs and curriculum for all majors, and to promote the comprehensive renewal and upgrading of required courses with demonstration courses. The participants all expressed that they would actively respond to the valuable suggestions given by Professor Wang at this conference and all realized that high-quality international development is a new concept for Chinese business education and the responsibility of the times and strategic action for building a new development pattern!
Finally, Professor Wang also encourages AMBA&BGA member institutions to actively organize the application for the AMBA&BGA 2022 ‘Global Business School Award for Excellence’, summarize the best practices of each school, showcase the latest progress, plan new capacity building initiatives, and promote the internationalization strategy. It is reported that this year, China AMBA&BGA member institutions will also organize a series of activities such as demonstration course workshops, capacity building demonstration meetings, sustainable entrepreneurship seminars, to provide a platform for more exchange and learning for China AMBA&BGA member institutions.
