SBA Faculty Achieve Outstanding Results in the 5th Hubei Provincial Teaching Innovation Competition

The final round of the 5th Hubei Provincial Teaching Innovation Competition for University Faculty was held on May 24th to 25th at Wuhan University of Technology. Liu Fan and Sun Huichun, faculty members from the School of Business Administration (SBA) at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), stood out for their solid teaching foundations and innovative pedagogical approaches. Sun Huichun’s team received the Second Prize in the Industry-Education Integration category for their course Management of Agricultural Enterprises, while Liu Fan’s teamwon the Third Prize in the Senior Group of the Basic Coursesfor their course Green Innovation Management.


With the theme “Fostering Teaching Innovation and Cultivating First-Class Talent”, this year’s competition attracted 159 project teams from universities across Hubei Province. The competition covered a range of tracks including New Engineering, New Liberal Arts, New Agriculture, New Medicine, foundational courses, curriculum-based ideological education, and industry-education integration. ZUEL submitted four project teams and achieved remarkable one First Prize, two Second Prizes, and one Third Prize.

Since the launch of the campus competition in January, the SBA has actively supported participating faculty through expert-led classroom refinement sessions. The university also assembled a team of internal and external experts to provide comprehensive support through both online and offline workshops. These efforts focused on updating teaching concepts, optimizing instructional methods, and strengthening outcome-based teaching design.


The success of the SBA faculty in this competition was the result of months of dedicated preparation, rigorous practice, and refined course design. Both award-winning teams expressed deep appreciation for the university and the SBA’s strong support in advancing course innovation. The SBA will take this achievement as a new start to further promote teaching reform, build a high-quality faculty team, advance pedagogical innovation, and elevate teaching standards.
