From June 21st to 22nd, 2025, the MBA Charity Club of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) organized a visit to Qingyuan, Guangdong Province, continuing its 13-year commitment to supporting underprivileged students. Led by MBA alumna Wan Huarong, the team of alumni and students delivered supplies and encouragement to 15 local families, reinforcing the Club’s long-standing mission of spreading warmth and fostering hope.

Thirteen Years of Commitment: From Mission to Legacy

Since its founding in 2012, the MBA Charity Club has remained dedicated to hands-on, targeted support for students in need. In this visit, members traveled to rural communities with the help of local volunteers, directly engaging with families and tailoring assistance based on individual circumstances. Alumna Wan Huarong emphasized the importance of sustained involvement, calling for more alumni to turn responsibility in heart into meaningful social contribution.

Seeing Hardship, Sharing Hope

The team encountered a wide range of challenges—families relying on subsistence aid, left-behind children, and students burdened with early responsibility. One particularly moving case involved a fifth-grade boy abandoned by his parents, living with his grandmother. Undernourished and small for his age, he received immediate nutritional aid and follow-up support arranged by alumna Xie Chunlian.

Another household left a lasting impression on MBA alumnus Wu Zengyong. During last year’s visit, he was struck by the youngest of ten siblings, barefoot in a faded shirt. This year, he ensured the family was included again. With a new baby now born, MBA Charity Club members pledged long-term support with educational supplies to nurture the children’s future.

One orphaned girl has received support from the MBA Charity Club since primary school—through donations of money, clothing, and a bicycle. Once shy and withdrawn, she grew into a confident young woman and has now entered medical school. Grateful for the alumni’s care, she hopes to one day give back and pass on the love she received.

Empowering Through Dialogue and Support

Beyond material donations like food, school supplies, and daily necessities, the Club emphasized emotional encouragement through face-to-face conversations. Alumni encouraged students to believe in their potential and see education as a path to change.

A Model of Business and Compassion

Through alumni coordination, need tracking, and follow-up, the MBA Charity Club has developed a systematic, sustainable approach to giving. Their efforts reflect the values of integrity, professionalism, and care promoted by the MBA program.

Looking ahead, the MBA Education Center will continue to support the Club’s efforts, expanding resources and outreach. This 13-year journey embodies the enduring spirit of social responsibility among ZUEL’s MBA community and its mission to serve society with knowledge, compassion, and action.
