From August 15th to 17th, 2025, the final round of the 3rd “Same Course, Different Approaches” Teaching Competition of the China Alliance of Finance and Economics MOOCs, under the guidance of the Sub-Committee on Higher Education in Finance and Economics of the Chinese Society of Higher Education, was held at Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. The event was jointly organized by over ten universities, including Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, and Chongqing Technology and Business University.

More than 30 universities nationwide participated in this year’s competition. Professor Liu Fan from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) served as a member of the expert judging panel, while Associate Professor Du Lihong represented the “Strategic Management” course team of the School of Business Administration (SBA) as a contestant. The competition consisted of three stages—preliminary (organized by each university), semi-final, and final—hosted by Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. After advancing through the semi-final with outstanding performance, the SBA team, led by Associate Professor Du, secured second place in its group and eventually won the First Prize in the final round.

Themed “Smart Finance in the New Era,” this year’s competition emphasized innovative course design and teaching practice to enhance talent training. Contestants were evaluated through a teaching design report (40%), a teaching presentation (30%), and on-site teaching (30%), followed by interactive Q&A sessions with the judges. The competition rules ensured fairness by adopting random assignment and avoidance of judges from the same university. The SBA team’s innovative teaching approach and excellent performance in both design and practice were highly commended by the jury.

ZUEL has attached great importance to this competition since hosting the first “Management” ideological and political teaching contest of the China Alliance of Finance and Economics MOOCs. Over the years, the university and the SBA have actively organized faculty participation and achieved remarkable results. This year’s award not only demonstrates the school’s commitment to curriculum innovation and reform but also highlights the steady progress in professional course team-building and sustainable development within the SBA.
