On 14th September 2025, the School of Business Administration (SBA) of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) successfully held the Seminar on "New Strategies for the High-Quality Development of Business Education in the AI Era" in Conference Room East 701 of Wenhan Building, Nanhu Campus. Experts and scholars from Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and other institutions gathered together to jointly explore the innovation path of business education in the AI era and promote the upgrading of talent cultivation models. The seminar was hosted by Professor Wu Haitao, Dean of the SBA and Director of the MBA Education Center.
The seminar invited Professor Wang Zhongming (Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Zhejiang University, Special Expert of Zhejiang Province, Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Research Center of Zhejiang University) and Professor Martyn Jones (Chair of the AMBA&BGA Quality and Standards Committee, Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University, President of BPP University) to deliver keynote speeches respectively.
Focusing on the core issues of business education development in the AI era, Professor Wang Zhongming elaborated on how AI reshapes business school curricula and teaching models, highlighted AI’s key strategic role in international accreditation.
Taking GenAI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) as the starting point, Professor Martyn Jones explained AI-business education integration from an international perspective, emphasizing the value of GenAI literacy, high-order thinking skills and unique human advantages in the AI era. He noted GenAI’s rapid development changes traditional knowledge acquisition, brings new challenges/opportunities to business talent cultivation, and stressed business schools need to re-examine their systems.
The Roundtable Forum was hosted by Professor Wang Zhongming. Vice Dean Liu Zhiqiang (HUST’s School of Management), Dean Zhai Huayun (South-Central Minzu University’s School of Management), Vice Dean Chi Maomao (China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)’s School of Economics and Management), Executive Dean Wu Jinhong (Wuhan Textile University’s School of Management), and experts from Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Technology and Huazhong Agricultural University had in-depth exchanges on key AI-era business education issues. Also present were SBA Vice Deans Professors Du Peng and Dong Ciwei.
As the organizer, the SBA of ZUEL has always taken promoting high-quality business education development as a core task, explored its innovation path, advanced talent cultivation model upgrading, and committed to cultivating high-quality business talents with a global perspective and adaptability to future business demands. In the future, the SBA will strengthen inter-university cooperation, build more high-level exchange platforms, and contribute "ZUEL’s strength" to AI-era business education’s innovative development.
