To deeply integrate university volunteer services with urban development needs, the Qingfeng Volunteer Service Team of the Volunteer Association of the School of Business Administration of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, in collaboration with Wuhan Botanical Garden, held a night tour activity themed Visit the Garden at Night, Seek Green Secrets with Volunteerism from November 15 to 16, 2025. The activity conveyed the concept of environmental protection, guarded children’s dreams of growth, and injected vitality into the construction of the city’s Dual Friendly initiative.

With the gentle autumn breeze, volunteers arrived at the designated gathering point of the botanical garden on schedule according to their shifts. A brief training was quickly carried out, where staff explained the park’s layout and job division in detail – from guiding and checking tickets at the entrance to maintaining order and assisting children’s interactions in activity areas, clarifying volunteers’ responsibilities. After training, volunteers quickly went to their posts, starting the unique experience of volunteer work with full enthusiasm.

At sunset, participants arrived one after another, and the Star Messenger activity area became lively. In this activity, volunteers patiently answered various questions from children, and guided them to write their visions for the Earth and expectations for the future on paper, put them into Starlight Bottles, and hang them in the Starlight Forest. Children stood on tiptoes with bright eyes, sharing the peace and warmth of the moment with volunteers. Meanwhile, volunteers stood fast at posts like ticket checkpoints and guidance desks, ensuring the smooth and warm progress of the whole activity with thoughtful services.

As night fell, the star lights in the park were lit up one after another, and the activity reached its climax. With volunteers and children counting down together, the Starlight Forest was brightly lit with twinkling lights, dyeing the sky colorful. After the ceremony, volunteers quickly switched to guidance mode: some guided directions at the exit and reminded tourists to take their belongings; some helped elderly people with mobility issues leave slowly; others stayed to tidy up the venue and sort materials.

This themed volunteer activity at the botanical garden is not only a vivid reflection of the Qingfeng Team of the Volunteer Association of the School of Business Administration practicing the spirit of volunteerism, but also a concrete action of young students participating in the city’s Dual Friendly construction. In the future, the Qingfeng Volunteer Service Team will continue to focus on urban development needs, build more practice platforms, and guide more young volunteers to step out of campus and serve society.
