Business for Good, Walking Together with Responsibility – the public welfare integration activity hosted by the Wuhan Chapter of the Alumni Association of the School of Business Administration (SBA), Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) concluded successfully. To fulfill social responsibilities and advance the integration of people with and without disabilities as well as social welfare development, a care and experience activity for adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities was held from January 30th to 31st, 2026. Guided by the philosophy of "Business for Good, Walking Together with Responsibility", it attracted numerous alumni families, building a bridge of understanding between ordinary families and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities through in-depth interaction and practical experience, and injecting warmth and positive energy into society.

The growth of adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities has long concerned all sectors of society. The SBA of ZUEL has always upheld the original aspiration of public welfare, integrating alumni resources and carrying forward the public welfare spirit. This activity is a vivid practice of the Wuhan Chapter of the SBA Alumni Association in fulfilling social responsibilities and innovating public welfare. It not only brought companionship and care to the adolescents, but also enabled participating alumni families to receive life education, deepen their understanding of public welfare responsibilities, and achieve the positive effect of "two-way growth".

At 9 a.m. on 30th January, participating families gathered at Activity Room 316 of Aite Special Education Center for Children to check in, officially starting the "Children's Independence Day" integrated experience. In the "Angels on Your Side" session, the organizers introduced the situation of adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and volunteer service rules, laying a foundation for subsequent interactions. The morning activities focused on young children with special needs; young volunteers entered individual and group classes, interacting closely with them with innocent smiles and sincere companionship, and establishing sincere emotional connections to let them feel peer warmth.

At 9:30 a.m. on 31st January, the activity entered the summary and deepening stage, with one parent accompanying each family to continue the public welfare warmth. In the baking room, young volunteers acted as "Messengers of Love", learning milk tea making skills earnestly, with every step from ingredient preparation to sealing filled with sincere care. Later, the children took the homemade milk tea to the community streets, presenting warmth to frontline workers including teachers from Aite Special Education Center for Children, community security guards, sanitation workers, breakfast shop keepers and fresh food market staff, expressing gratitude through practical actions and spreading public welfare warmth across the community.

At the "Little Volunteers' Gratitude Sharing Session", children and parents reviewed the activity highlights, shared insights and gains, and held a heated discussion on "How to Continuously Care for Adolescents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities", deepening public welfare thinking. In the subsequent Aite-themed sharing session, all parties explored the innovative integration model of "Public Welfare + Business + School", providing valuable ideas and practical directions for the sustainable development of public welfare undertakings. At the end of the activity, honorary certificates were awarded to all participating volunteers and a group photo was taken, drawing a perfect conclusion to the public welfare integration journey.

"We look forward to sowing the seeds of public welfare in children's hearts, passing on love and responsibility, and building an inclusive and friendly social environment together," said Principal Hu of Aite Special Education Center for Children. Li Qing, a Council Member of the Wuhan Chapter of the SBA Alumni Association of ZUEL, extended sincere gratitude to the teachers of Aite Special Education Center for Children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities working at the 1017 Public Welfare Cafe, noting that the activity revealed the diverse possibilities of life and brought profound life education to all participants. Director Wang Yanming of the Alumni Affairs Office of the MBA Education Center of the SBA stated that the center will continue to build public welfare platforms, carry out such activities regularly, promote the in-depth integration of business for good and culture for good, and make responsibility and love a solid bond connecting alumni and giving back to society.

This one-and-a-half-day public welfare integration experience has ended, but the public welfare journey has no finish line. The seeds of love and inclusiveness sown in this activity will eventually take root and germinate in more people's hearts. The SBA of ZUEL will take this activity as an opportunity to continuously gather public welfare forces, innovate public welfare models, and contribute more wisdom and strength to promoting the integration of people with and without disabilities and building a friendly and inclusive social environment.
