On March 25th, Elsevier, a leading global academic publishing giant, announced the much-anticipated 2024 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list. Professor Dong Ciwei from the School of Business Administration (SBA) has been selected for the third consecutive year as one of China’s Highly Cited Researchers in the field of Business Administration. This achievement highlights the growing academic strength of SBA, demonstrates the international influence of the faculty’s scholarly contributions, and will positively impact the university's efforts to build first-class disciplines.
The Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list uses Scopus, a global citation and indexing database, to scientifically analyze and evaluate the global impact of Chinese scholars. This recognition honors outstanding scholars who lead academic progress and is an important metric for measuring scholars' research performance and academic capabilities. The list has received widespread attention from media and scholars both domestically and internationally.
The 2024 list includes a total of 6,388 individuals from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 83 primary disciplines across 10 Ministry of Education categories. In the field of Business Administration, 111 scholars are recognized as Highly Cited Researchers, representing 8 sub-disciplines within the field.
Professor Dong Ciwei, Vice Dean of SBA and a Ph.D. advisor, specializes in operations and supply chain management. Over the past five years, he has published more than 30 papers in top-tier international journals, with several being recognized as ESI Highly Cited Papers. He has led three National Natural Science Foundation projects and received several prestigious awards, including the Hubei Social Science Excellent Achievement Award. He is also the associate editor of SSCI journals OMR and IJSTLand serves as a special expert for the Hubei Provincial Industry Supply Chain Collaborative Innovation Public Service Center, providing decision-making consultation for numerous enterprises and institutions.
