On the afternoon of the 29th, the volunteers arrived at the Nanhu Lake Community Committee on time, bringing along materials and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the children.
The event began with a lively and enthusiastic opening speech from the host, followed by a screening of the popular science video “The Story of Spring”. The video vividly tells the story of how in 1979, Comrade Deng Xiaoping established Special Economic Zones along the South China Sea, and through implementing reform and opening up, China was revitalized like spring.
After the video, the host asked questions based on key points from the video. The children eagerly raised their hands and competed to answer.
Next was the fun and engaging “Treasure Hunt” game. The volunteers had prepared leaf and flower specimens in advance and hid them in various corners of the community courtyard. The children could gather clues to the locations of the specimens by participating in ring toss and word-adding games.
Armed with the clues earned from the games, the children eagerly began their search for leaf and flower specimens in the courtyard.
Once they found the specimens, the children sat together, carefully cutting and pasting the leaves and flowers to create artwork. Under the warm spring sun, the Nanhu Lake Red Seedling Class activity concluded successfully.
