Starting in 2009, the Chinese Mathematics Competitions (CMC) was positioned as a national high-level academic competition for undergraduate students and provided students a platform to demonstrate their basic mathematical skills and mathematical thinking. It plays a remarkable role in discovering and selecting excellent mathematics talents and in promoting the reform and development of the public mathematics curriculum in colleges and universities.
Zhao Xinyu, a student from Class 1701 of Business Administration, learned about CMC from the School of Statistics and Mathematics in July 2020 and signed up, and actively studied mathematical analysis for preparation. In November 2020, Zhao outstand among more than 8,000 participants, won the first prize for non-mathematical professionals (school-level) and successfully reached the finals of CMC (for non-mathematical professionals).
It highlights the talent development model featuring consilience in ZUEL, and lays a solid foundation for the SBA to further reform and innovation, explore talent development methods and effectively improve the comprehensive quality of students.
