On 26th November, 2022, the “Second Frontier Forum on High-quality Development of Chinese Enterprises”, organized by China Industrial Economics Magazine, the SBA of ZUEL, and supported by Industrial Economics Society of Hubei Province, Institute of Digital Economy of ZUEL and Center for Modern Industrial Economic Research of ZUEL, was successfully held at the Simultaneous Interpretation Conference Center in Wenhuan Building of ZUEL. The forum was conducted in a combination of online and offline ways. Also, it attracted more than one thousand scholars and students from over forty well-known domestic research institutions and universities to participate in the report, discussion, study and watch. With the theme of high-quality development of Chinese enterprises, the participants discussed in depth the theoretical and practical innovation of enterprise management in the digital economy environment, and how to promote Chinese-style modernization construction with high-quality development.
The opening ceremony of the forum was hosted by Wang Hualu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Business Administration of ZUEL. Professor Liu Renshan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of ZUEL, and Professor Zhang Qizi, Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection and the Deputy Head of the Institute of Industrial Economics of CASS, Deputy Editor of China Industrial Economics Magazine, delivered opening welcome speeches respectively.
Professor Liu Renshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, addressed the conference in person at the main venue of the Wenhuan Building. Vice President Liu Renshan firstly welcomed all the guests, scholars, faculties and students, and expressed his gratitude to colleagues from all walks of life who have long supported and paid attention to the development of ZUEL. Then, he elaborated on the disciplinary links between ZUEL and China’s industrial economic theoretical world, and briefly introduced the development history of the University and the School, as well as the basic situation of Business Administration Discipline and Industrial Economics Discipline.
Professor Zhang Qizi extended a warm welcome to all the keynote speakers, experts and scholars, faculties and students, and expressed his gratitude to the SBA of the University for its efforts in organizing the 2nd Frontier Forum on High-quality Development of Chinese Enterprises. Professor Zhang Qizi introduced the development history of China Industrial Economics which has always adhered to the tenet of “Being upright, and taking the author as the foundation” in the past 28 years. Responseto the new tasks facing economic development in the new era will help to build a new development pattern and adhere to the new development concept based on the new development stage, and bring the research on high-quality development of Chinese enterprises to a new climax.
The keynote speech was divided into three parts, which was hosted by Professor Zhang Qizi, Researcher Wang Yanmei, Editorial Director of China Industrial Economics, and Professor Hu Chuan, Vice Dean of the SBA of ZUEL. Professor Shi Dan from the Institute of Industrial Economics of CASS, Professor Xia Jun from the University of Texas at Dallas, Professor Zheng Jianghuai from Nanjing University, Doctor Sun Xiaorong from Wuhan Landing Medical High-Tech Co., Ltd., Professor Li Yanping from Wuhan University and Professor Ren Jianxin from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law delivered six excellent keynote presentations for the conference.
In the afternoon of 26th, the forum focused on “Corporate Governance and High-quality Development of Enterprises”, “Internationalization Strategy of Enterprises in the New Era”, “Green Development Concept and Environmental Management of Enterprises”, “Business Environment and Enterprise Innovation”, “Digital Economy and Strategic Change of Enterprises”, “Reform of State-owned Enterprises and High-quality Development of State-owned Economy”, “Investment Behaviour and Enterprise Performance”, “Mergers and Acquisitions and High-quality Development of Enterprises”, “Digital Transformation and High-quality Development of Enterprises”. And 10 sub-forums focused the above themes were conducted orderly. Each participant presented the relevant research results in detail and depth, and the host and guests gave wonderful comments on each presentation.
The forum helped the participating scholars to have ideological dialogue and academic exchange. And in the lively discussion of various views, innovative ideas of the high-quality development of enterprises were discovered.
