On March 28th, 2023, Elsevier, a global information analysis and academic literature publishing company, released the 2022 “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list. Prof. Dong was selected as a highly cited researcher in business administration. It is, reportedly, the first time that a scholar from ZUEL has been included in the list since its release in 2015.
The “Highly Cited Chinese Scholars” list uses Scopus, a leading global citation and index database, as its source of Chinese scholars’ scientific research achievements and the method developed by Shanghai Soft Science Education Information Consulting Co., Ltd. is adopted to analyze their achievements. The list is aimed at selecting the most globally influential Chinese scholars in various disciplines. It is also an important indicator for the performance of scholars’ scientific research and academic ability, and has been widely followed by media and scholars from home and abroad. It is reported that there are 5216 scholars on the list, including 504 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 84 first-level disciplines in 10 disciplines of the Ministry of Education.
In line with the goal of building first-class disciplines, SBA works for increased capabilities of research and innovation, and greater international influence of its disciplinary strengths and academic achievements. The selection of Prof. Dong is a telling example of the rising influence of Business Administration and will play a positive role in the construction of first-class disciplines in ZUEL.
