SBA Participated in the China-Colombia Business School Workshop

On September 25th to 26th, 2023, the China-Colombia Business School Workshop and the unveiling ceremony of the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network (SREEN) Colombia Collaborative Demonstration Base were held in Bogotá, Colombia. The event was jointly organized by Universidad de los Andes School of Management and SREEN. Attendees included H.E. Ambassador Zheng Jingyang of the People's Republic of China to Colombia, Vice-Chancellor Silvia Restrepo of Universidad de los Andes, International Minister Catalina González, Dean of the School of Management Veneta Andonova, Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Research Center at Zhejiang University, Wang Zhongming, and a delegation of deans from the Five Major Business Schools in China and the SREEN Five Collaborative Demonstration Base composed of Zhejiang University, Jilin University, Lanzhou University, Donghua University, and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL). Wu Haitao, Dean of School of Business Administration (SBA) and Du Peng, the director of the marketing management department and the academic director of the MBA center, were invited to attend the forum in Colombia.

Mr. Zhu Jingyang delivered a welcome speech and highlighted the fruitful achievements of China-Colombia educational exchange and cooperation, and Prof. Silvia Restrepo warmly welcomed the delegates from China and introduced that the School of Management of Universidad de los Andes attaches great importance to the concept of sustainable development.

 

Two Round Tables were held during this cooperation forum, in which the delegates had in-depth discussions on how to develop responsible management and sustainable entrepreneurship strategies in the context of digital transformation and sustainable development, the importance of leadership development for sustainable entrepreneurship and change management, and how to carry out better cooperation in terms of collaborative projects, green business, entrepreneurship cases, and curricular capacity building.

As the SREEN Wuhan Cooperation Base, SBA is a key institution for capacity building among AMBA & BGA China Business Schools. The Latin American region, where Colombia is located, extends the Maritime Silk Road. This cooperation forum showcases new practices, dynamics, and development of China's new business schools under the Belt and Road initiative. Learning Latin American entrepreneurship will help cultivate business elites for in-depth and positive exchanges with the region, enhancing entrepreneurship education and cultivation at our university.
