On 16th December 2023, School of Business Administration (MBA Education Center) released the first ESG report on MBA education in mainland China at the Responsibility, Innovation and Sustainable Development Forum.

The report describes the concepts, actions and future plans for the sustainable development of MBA education in our university. It constructs the ACT index system (Aim, Conduct and Target) for ESG assessment of business schools, and is divided into three parts, namely E (Eco-college, Green Happening), S (Sustainable Education, Co-benefit and Empowerment), and G (Scientific Governance, Co-creating the Future) to introduce the ESG practice of our university's MBA education, and puts forward the goals and initiatives of the future development of ESG in our university's MBA education.

With the unprecedented severity of the climate crisis, the willingness of countries around the world to promote the green and low-carbon transformation of their economies has been further strengthened. At the general debate of the 75th United Nations General Assembly, General Secretary Xi Jinping made a commitment to the world to realize the dual-carbon goal. As China has entered a new stage of development, the promotion of dual carbon is an urgent need to meet the growing demand for a beautiful ecological environment and to promote the harmonious coexistence of human beings and nature, as well as an urgent need to take the initiative to assume the responsibility of a great nation and to promote the building of a community of human destiny.

ESG issues require the participation of the whole society, especially enterprises and universities. As the cradle of training entrepreneurs and an important role in training future business leaders, business schools need to integrate ESG concepts into education and teaching, cultivate high-end talents with the concept and awareness of sustainable development, and jointly undertake the mission of exercising social responsibility, environmental protection and social equity.

The release of the report on ESG in MBA education reflects the positive exploration and innovation of MBA education in sustainable development, which is a practical action to actively implement the fundamental task of establishing moral character in universities and will lead and promote business education to better serve the major strategic needs of the country.
