In order to further explore the feasibility of EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation, the International Accreditation Office of School of Business and Adminstration (SBA) participated in three series of online training sessions organized by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). From October 16th to November 8th, 2023, the International Accreditation Office participated in a four-week seminar on Mainstreaming the SDGs in Business Education (Figure 1), which provided an in-depth understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The workshop provided an in-depth analysis of SDGs, an international paradigm framework, and explored the strategic value of integrating Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability (ERS) into the management and operations of business schools.

For its part, SBA has crafted a comprehensive program to integrate SDGs into all aspects of our teaching, research, and social services based on the Continuous Impact Model (CIM), which was initially affirmed by EFMD experts (Figure 2).

On 28th November, 2023, the International Accreditation Office of SBA participated in the EQUIS Introductory Webinar to learn about EFMD. Management Development (EFMD), and initially learned about the EQUIS accreditation concept, accreditation standard system and accreditation process (Figure 3).

On 28th February and 15th March, 2024, the International Accreditation Office of SBA participated in the two-day EFMD programme accreditation workshop. In this workshop, EFMD accreditation experts introduced the EQUIS accreditation principles and standards in detail, explained the requirements of various documents needed for accreditation, and introduced the requirements for filling out datasheet and key details through real cases(Figure 4).

Through the study of the three training series, the International Accreditation Office of SBA has gained a basic understanding of the EQUIS accreditation standards and processes, and initially grasped the method of filling out the EQUIS Datesheet, which has laid a solid foundation for demonstrating the possibility of launching the EQUIS accreditation.
