Representatives of SBA attend 2024 AACSB Business Accreditation Seminar

From November 4th to 5th, 2024, the AACSB Business Accreditation Seminar was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. More than 100 representatives from business schools worldwide attended the seminar. Professor Shi Junwei, Vice Dean of the School of Business Administration(SBA), Associate Professor Zhou Lingxu of the Department of Tourism Management, and Director Zeng Zirong of the Office of the Party Committee participated in the seminar. Through roundtable discussions and workshops led by two senior certification instructors, the AACSB Business Accreditation Seminar analyzed and discussed in depth the nine standards of the new version and studied the various certification processes and certification systems.

 

The seminar was hosted by Professor Ross James of the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and Professor Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President of AACSB. Both experts have extensive experience in certification guidance and review. The seminar provided participants with a clearer understanding of AACSB's global influence and the new version of accreditation eligibility criteria, as well as a deeper understanding of the various standards. At the seminar, Associate Professor Zhou Lingxu briefly introduced the content of our school in terms of “Standard 9: Engagement and Societal Impact” and had a full exchange and learning with other representatives.

AACSB Accreditation provides a suitable management framework for business schools, which fully integrates international accreditation work with school operation management. After the seminar, our school representatives held talks with Mr. Xu Guodong, AACSB Regional Head of East Asia, and Ms. Chen Liyan, AACSB Senior Manager of Accreditation of Asia Pacific, and actively discussed the further promotion of subsequent accreditation work.

The AACSB Business Accreditation Seminar deepened the school's understanding of accreditation standards. Our school will further improve the benchmarking work against various standards. Our school will actively prepare for the third round of continuous improvement and rectification of AACSB and strive to successfully pass AACSB Accreditation.
