Recently, the fourth batch (2024-2025) of international volunteers of the "Chinese Young Volunteers Overseas Service Program - Serving United Nations Agencies" officially took up their posts. Zhou Wenqian, a 2023 doctoral student in the Department of International Trade from the School of Business Administration(SBA), went to the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Sri Lanka Office for a six-month overseas service, during which she served as publicity and external relations assistant, providing international volunteer services for the 17th of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - Partnerships for the Goals. This is also the first time that our university has selected young volunteers to conduct international volunteer services in United Nations agencies.

Zhou Wenqian entered Zhongnan University of Economics and Law(ZUEL) in 2021, and after receiving a master's degree, continued to study for a doctorate at ZUEL. After hearing about this project, Zhou Wenqian decided to apply. She believes that as a young person in the new era, we should pay attention to the various challenges and global issues facing humanity with a global perspective.

In order to better handle the work tasks, Zhou Wenqian made a lot of preparations before taking up the job, including strengthening language skills, accumulating professional knowledge, and building a "bridge" for cultural communication.

As a publicity and external relations assistant, Zhou Wenqian's responsibilities include office publicity and project support. She also needs to assist the organization in carrying out its work to ensure that related activities can be carried out smoothly.

It is reported that the fourth batch (2024-2025) of international volunteers of the "Chinese Young Volunteers Overseas Service Program - Serving United Nations Agencies" has been expanded based on the past, including international college students, youth, professional volunteers and local youth and professional volunteers. After the project was launched, our universityresponded quickly and signed a United Nations Volunteer Post Service Agreement with the China Youth Volunteer Association. This demonstrates our university's determination to broaden students' international vision and cultivate global leadership.
