On 27th October, the Department of Agricultural Economics and Management at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law(ZUEL) successfully held the symposium and alumni forum for the Agricultural Economics discipline.
Alumni representatives, school leaders, teachers, and student representatives attended the forum, which was presided over by Professor Deng Yuanjian, Dean of the department.
Professor Wu Haitao, Dean of the School of Business Administration(SBA), and Professor Shi Junwei, Vice Dean of the SBA, on behalf of the school, congratulated the academic achievements of the agricultural economics discipline over the past 70 years.
Professor Chen Chibo, Vice Chairman of the Academic Committee of ZUEL and Director of the Rural Revitalization Research Center, provided a detailed introduction to the development history and future direction of the agricultural economics discipline. He emphasized the importance of scientific research, talent training, and social services.
Emeritus faculty member Professor Yan Lidong expressed his hope that the younger generation of teachers would inherit and carry forward the spirit and contribute more to the development of the discipline.
Student representatives presented flowers to Professors Yan Lidong, Chen Chibo, Ding Shijun, and Chen Yuping, who have devoted more than 30 years to education.
Alumni representatives, combining their own industry experience and deep understanding of the market, offered insightful expectations and suggestions for the future development of the discipline.
In the afternoon, the alumni forum was held in Room 105, Wentian Building. Four alumni were specially invited to share their experiences. The four alumni took the stage in turn and had in-depth exchanges with the students.
The students actively asked questions and received enthusiastic responses from the alumni.
Finally, Professor Deng Yuanjian made a summary of the entire forum, stating that the Department of Agricultural Economics and Management will continue to strengthen its contact and cooperation with alumni and provide more learning opportunities and exchange platforms for students.
