On the evening of January 24th, 2025, in London, the AMBA&BGA Excellence Awards ceremony was held grandly. It was reported that the School of Business Administration at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law won the gold award for "Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative." This marks the first major breakthrough in international business school awards since our school initiated international accreditation in 2011.
Since July 2024, we have meticulously prepared the application materials, deeply understood the requirements and evaluation criteria, and comprehensively demonstrated the school's long-term efforts and significant achievements in promoting social responsibility and sustainable development strategies. Among only six universities globally that made it to the final round for this award, our school stood out and won the gold award.
The "Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative" award aims to recognize institutions that uphold social responsibility and sustainable development principles and are committed to making a positive impact in society. We have closely collaborated with numerous stakeholders to build the "Compassionate Futures Nexus" (CFN). This platform brings together five flagship brand activities: the "Starlight Haven" public welfare project aimed at caring for children with autism, the "MBA Benevolence Network" initiated by MBA alumni, the "Centre for Female Leadership and Student Career Development" focusing on female leadership, the "Hope and Help" charity initiative to assist underprivileged children, and the "Community Connect" initiative to enhance the practical abilities of business students. These activities are not only vivid practices of our school's active fulfillment of social responsibility but also reflect our deep understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We contribute to building a more harmonious, inclusive, and sustainable society with practical actions.
Overview of the "Compassionate Futures Nexus" activities
At the awards ceremony, a video of the acceptance speech by Li Qing, a 2015 MBA alumnus representing the school, was played. Li Qing expressed that it was a great honor to be a part of the "Compassionate Futures Nexus" and to rely on the rich resources provided by the school to collaborate closely with alumni, faculty, current students, employers, and other stakeholders to advance a series of meaningful public welfare activities and convey the concept of social responsibility.

Looking back at recent performances, our school has repeatedly achieved good results in the AMBA&BGA Excellence Awards: in 2023, we received dual nominations for the "Best Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion Initiative" and the "MBA Leadership Award"; in 2024, we received dual nominations for the "Best Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion Initiative" and the "Postgraduate Leadership Award." In 2025, we once again stood on the international stage with dual nominations for the "Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative" and the "BGA Outstanding Student of the Year Award."
The gold award not only showcases our school's excellence in internationalization but also highlights our social responsibility and international influence. Our school is always committed to cultivating future leaders with a high sense of social responsibility and delivering capable and responsible elite talents to all sectors of society. This goal has been further strengthened and realized. Our school will take this opportunity to continue pursuing global best practices and innovative breakthroughs in business education, joining hands with global business schools to embark on a new journey together.
