SBA’s Ethnic Minority Student Wins First Prize in the Fifth "Tell China's Story in English" Competition at ZUEL

On March 15th, the final round of the Fifth "Tell China's Story in English" competition — Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) Station was successfully held at ZUEL's Nanhu campus. Ze Ren Zhuoma, a Tibetan student from the 2024 cohort of the School of Business Administration, stood out in the competition and won the first prize.



The "Tell China's Story in English" competition is jointly organized by the China National Innovation and Development Strategy Research Association, China Education Television, and New Channel International Education Group. It is the first cultural literacy activity aimed at promoting Chinese culture internationally, targeting young people both in China and abroad.




During her preparation, Ze Ren Zhuoma practiced English output every day, continuously improving the fluency of her speech and pronunciation by filming videos. She also took the initiative to engage with international students in the university, which not only improved her spoken English but also provided new insights for telling China’s story.


In the final round, Ze Ren Zhuoma drew the topic "The Interesting Animal-based Zodiac Calendar." With thorough preparation and vivid storytelling, she brilliantly showcased the charm of the Chinese Zodiac culture.



After the competition, Ze Ren Zhuoma expressed her excitement and said that the experience not only enhanced her English skills but also deepened her understanding of the vast and profound Chinese culture. It further strengthened her sense of identification with and pride in the Chinese nation. As a young Tibetan, she aspires to become a cultural ambassador for the outstanding Chinese culture, using her professional perspective in business to continue being a cultural bridge in the new era and contributing to the development of the Chinese national community. She hopes to let the world experience the colorful and diverse Chinese culture.
