Chen Shuping, an alumnus of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Class of 1988 majoring in Agricultural Economics.


According to CNR (China National Radio), at the second plenary session of the 18th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Sichuan Provincial People's Congress held on March 28, the appointment and removal proposal submitted by Governor Shi Xiaolin to the Standing Committee was reviewed and approved. It was decided to remove Zeng Qing from the post of Secretary-General of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and to appoint Chen Shuping as the new Secretary-General.


According to People’s Daily Online on March 14, updates on the "Provincial Government Leadership" section of the Sichuan Provincial Government's official website indicated that Chen Shuping, then Secretary and Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Finance, had been appointed as a member of the Provincial Government leadership and Secretary of the General Office of the Provincial Government.


Public information shows that Chen Shuping is a native of Rong County, Sichuan Province, of Han ethnicity. He joined the Communist Party of China in May 1992 and began his career in July 1992. He holds a university degree, having graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law with a major in Agricultural Economics, and later earned an MBA from Sichuan University in Business Administration.


He previously served as Deputy Director and then Director of the General Office of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Finance, as well as Director of the Budget Division. In January 2014, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Finance. In June 2020, he became Deputy Secretary-General of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and a member of its General Office. From March 2022 to July 2022, he served as Director and Deputy Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transportation. From July 2022 to March 2025, he served as Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Finance.


He currently serves as Secretary-General of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government.
