From May 16th to 18th, 2025, the 4th Forum on the Development of the Human Resource Management Discipline was successfully held at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. The forum was jointly organized by the China Association for Human Resource Development and Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, and co-hosted by China Human Resources Development magazine and the School of Business Administration (SBA) at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics.
The forum brought together leaders from the China Association for Human Resource Development, the Eighth Academic Evaluation Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and the Ministry of Education’s Steering Committee for Business Administration Programs. Nearly 200 experts and scholars from top universities such as Peking University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Tongji University, Lanzhou University, Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) attended the event.
At this forum, the case submitted by the Center for Talent Development and Organizational Advancement and the Department of Human Resource Management of SBA—“Building a Collaborative Education System Integrating Industry, Academia, Research, and Application in the Human Resource Management Program at ZUEL”—stood out and was successfully selected as one of the 2025 National Benchmark Cases for Discipline Development in Human Resource Management. Professor Zhao Chenhui, director of the national-level first-class undergraduate program in Human Resource Management, attended the award ceremony on behalf of SBA and shared our university's experience in discipline development and innovative approaches in practice-based education.
This model case selection was launched in February 2025 by the China Association for Human Resource Development, a national first-level academic organization under the supervision of the National Development and Reform Commission. After extensive submissions from universities across the country and several rounds of anonymous review, a total of 36 outstanding cases were selected, including 15 benchmark cases. SBA’s case received high praise and was selected with a top score.
In recent years, facing the challenges and opportunities brought by the AI era in higher management education, SBA has actively responded by focusing on national strategic priorities, advancing the reform of new business disciplines, and promoting the construction of a practice-based education system. This case’s selection as a benchmark highlights the remarkable progress SBA has made in discipline development and innovative talent cultivation, providing valuable insights and reference for the high-quality development, digital transformation, and practice-oriented education in human resource management programs nationwide.
