On 9th May 2025, the final of the Postgraduate Group of the Student Basketball League of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) successfully concluded at the Basketball Court of the Art and Sports Center. After intense competition, the postgraduate basketball team of the School of Business Administration (SBA) defeated the International Education College with a score of 68:55, clinching the championship of the 2025 University Student Basketball League (Postgraduate Men's Group)! At the awarding ceremony, Professor Shi Junwei, Associate Dean of SBA, presented the award to the SBA postgraduate basketball team.
The team demonstrated extremely high competitive levels and a tenacious fighting spirit on the court, delivering a wonderful youth performance to all faculty and students. This victory has added a significant chapter to the school's sports culture construction, and the exciting moments and the team's outstanding performance will surely be inscribed in the history of SBA's sports development.
At 8:20 a.m. on the final day, all members of the SBA men's basketball team gathered at the court and systematically carried out pre-game tactical drills. The players showed high morale and boosted team cohesion during warm-ups, welcoming the upcoming peak match in full competitive form. Their performance demonstrated the team's unwavering determination to win with unified resolve, embodying the spirit of solidarity.
Facing the leading edge established by the International Education College's aggressive start, key players such as Xue Yufan, Lu Lifu, and Chu Mengcheng quickly stabilized the situation with tough defense, overtaking the score through team collaboration and physical advantage. When the opponent leveled the score with three-point shooting in the third quarter, Coach Yao Ruikuan immediately called a timeout to adjust tactics. The players charged the paint to break the defense line—Li Minhao made tough drives, Liu Yuheng provided precise assists, and Lu Lifu maintained steady scoring—ultimately securing the victory with a 13-point lead.
Our opponent, the International Education College, also deserves respect. The tenacious performances of He Li, who "fought bloodily" with an injury, and Kelamagu, who charged bravely alone, together with the tough will of the SBA men's basketball team, composed a hymn of the "Peak Duel".
From the group stage to the final, led by Leader Shi Zhanwen, the SBA men's basketball team forged ahead with high morale, overcoming obstacles to clinch the championship in the final and hold aloft the trophy. Meanwhile, Lu Lifu was awarded the MVP of the Postgraduate Group Final.
This historic victory is the culmination of the team's relentless training, composed tactical execution, and a vivid demonstration of the SBA spirit of "daring to fight and win". Taking this championship as a milestone, the school will further deepen sports education, inspiring students to stay passionate and scale new heights in both athletic arenas and life's journey.
