From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assisted Scientific Research: UTD24 Paper Publication Capacity Enhancement Training Camp" hosted by the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law was successfully carried out in Classroom 718 East, Wenhan Building. The training camp specially invited Professor Liu Yunchuan from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA, as the keynote speaker, and Professor Dong Ciwei of our college hosted the event. Professional teachers and undergraduate, master's and doctoral students of the School of Business Administration actively participated in this training camp.
Professor Liu Yunchuan, a graduate of Columbia University in the United States, is an expert in marketing, operations management, supply chain, information management, consumer finance and other fields. He currently serves as the Director of the China Program at the Business School of the University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign.
This training camp is aimed at teachers and students majoring in economics and management, and aims to systematically teach and train how to use artificial intelligence technology to improve scientific research efficiency, quality and innovation ability.
On the morning of June 27th, the training camp conducted a course overview and an introduction to UTD24 journals, explaining the academic standards, review processes, and research hotspots of UTD24 journals, and analyzing classic management and economics papers. In the afternoon, it carried out the application teaching of AI tools in literature organization.
On the morning of June 28th, it explained topic design and theoretical frameworks, combined with perspectives such as behavioral economics and game theory for innovative topic design and case analysis. In the afternoon, it conducted model construction and AI-assisted analysis, used AI tools for model optimization and data analysis, and carried out group discussions on topics and models.
On the morning of June 29th, the training camp explained the skills of result induction and data visualization, and generated visual charts. In the afternoon, it explained the paper structure and language optimization, carried out simulated peer review, and formulated personal research and submission plans.
Dozens of teachers and students participated in the lecture offline, more than 100 teachers and students participated in the study and communication online. At the same time, the lecture also attracted more than 270 people to join the online discussion by establishing an AI-assisted scientific research exchange group.
This training camp provides a platform for teachers and students of economics and management to master AI-assisted scientific research skills through systematic curriculum settings and practical training, which helps to improve the scientific research capabilities and international academic vision of teachers and students, injects new impetus into scientific research innovation and high-quality paper output, and also provides useful reference for the application of interdisciplinary research methods in scientific research.
