Department of Tourism Management Successfully Held "Thesis Writing and Research Methods" Series Lectures

To promote academic exchanges, the "Thesis Writing and Research Methods" lectures, organized by Professor Deng Aimin and Associate Professor Gui Chenglin, ran from June 28th to July 5th, 2025 in Room 703, North of Wenhan Building. Featuring various speakers, they covered thesis writing and research methods.

Quantitative Research Methods and Mplus Practical Operation

On the afternoon of June 28th, Dr. Ye Huili from Huazhong University of Science and Technology gave a lecture hosted by Associate Professor Gui Chenglin. Skilled in quantitative methods, she has published in journals like Tourism Management. The two-session lecture focused on "Quantitative Research Methods and Mplus Practical Operation", covering method application and software operation.From 14:30-16:00, Dr. Ye elaborated on quantitative methods in management research. From 16:00-17:30, she explained MPlus operation to help master complex data analysis.

"Paper Writing and Publication from the Perspective of Journals"

On the afternoon of June 29th, Professor Zhang Yuangang from Shanghai Normal University's School of Tourism lectured, hosted by Professor Deng Aimin. He is a master supervisor, deputy editor of “Tourism Science”, with over 80 papers and 10+ projects.From 14:00-15:30, Professor Zhang discussed journal selection standards and topics, citing "Tourism Science". From 16:00-17:30, he analyzed high-quality paper writing skills and frameworks.

"Research on Cultural and Tourism Integration and Innovative Development: Topic Selection and Scenario Experimentation"

On the morning of July 3rd, Professor Ruan Wenqi from Huaqiao University's School of Tourism gave a lecture, hosted by Associate Professor Gui Chenglin. He is a doctoral supervisor with multiple titles, over 90 papers published and 10+ projects presided over. From 9:00-10:30, he focused on "How to Put Forward Real 'Cultural and Tourism Issues'"; from 10:30-12:00, he discussed "How to Effectively Use the Scenario Experiment Method".

"From Phenomenon to Problem: A New Theoretical Perspective on Understanding Sacred Site Pilgrimage"

On the afternoon of July 3rd, Professor Li Chunxiao from Nankai University lectured, hosted by Associate Professor Gui Chenglin. A doctoral supervisor with multiple titles, she has over 40 papers and 5 projects. From 14:00-15:30, she discussed sacred site pilgrimage; 16:00-17:30, virtual curiosity's impact, followed by a workshop with suggestions.

"Identity Construction of Employees and Customers under AI Services"

On the morning of July 5th, the academic lecture was given by Associate Professor Liu Pei, with Associate Professor Gui Chenglin from the Department of Tourism Management as the host. Liu Pei, an associate professor and master supervisor at Sun Yat-sen University's School of Tourism, has over 30 papers published in journals like "Journal of Applied Psychology" and presided over a National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project. From 9:00-10:30, he focused on "Identity Construction in AI Services", analyzing consumer acceptance laws and identity threat mechanisms. From 10:30-12:00, he explained the "Implicit Association Test (IAT)" in detail, covering its logic and operation process.

The SBA's "Thesis Writing and Research Methods" lecture series (June 28-July 5) featured experts like Zhang Yuangang, covering diverse themes. It offered full-process guidance, boosting research standards and academic atmosphere.
