SBA Successfully Held Send-Off Ceremony for UN Agency Volunteers

On the morning of 13th October, the School of Business Administration (SBA) of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) held a send-off ceremony in Room East 718 of Wenhan Building for the 5th Batch (2025) of the China Youth Volunteer Overseas Service Program- Volunteer Program for Serving UN Agencies. Pan Yiting, a 2024 postgraduate student in Tourism Management,will depart for Bangladesh as a UN volunteer to work as a Communications Assistant at the World Food Programme (WFP), contributing her expertise to global governance. Attendees included Director of the Student Affairs Department HuangXiaomei, Secretary of the Party Committee of SBA Yu Xiaopeng, Associate Dean of the SBA Xiong Wei, Director of the Tourism Management Department Deng Aimin, Associate Professor Gui Chenglin, SBA postgraduate counselors, and student representatives.


Huang Xiaomei recalled the university’s efforts in securing the program, highlighted the SBA as a model for serving national strategies, and urged Pan to showcase ZUEL students’ professionalism and Chinese youth’s spirit globally.



Zhou Wenqian, a 2024 SBA PhD student in International Trade who volunteered in Sri Lanka, advised Pan to embrace differences, tell China’s stories professionally, and stay passionate.



Pan Yiting took an oath, thanked the university and SBA, noted her global perspective shaped by the SBA’s motto “Seek Truth through Knowledge and Action, Pursue Distant Goals with Integrity” and international activities, and vowed to use tourism-related sustainable development concepts in her work.



Professor Deng Aimin reminded Pan to prioritize safety, focus on her mission, and pursue growth. Associate Professor Gui Chenglin suggested she study Bangladesh’s world heritage tourism and conduct field research.



Party SecretaryYu Xiaopeng stated the SBA has funded such trips for three years, expressed expectations for Pan, and presented her with a “Bufuzhou” cultural doll and gift box with Huang Xiaomei.



The ceremony was hosted by Associate Dean Xiong Wei.



This event reflected the SBA’s international achievements. The SBA will continue empowering students to contribute to global issues and advance building a community with a shared future for mankind.
