Reunion Meeting of the 2012 Master’s Cohort in Agricultural Economics Successfully Held at the SBA

On the afternoon of 22nd November 2025, Room 703 North of Wenhan Building at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) was filled with warm sentiments as alumni of the 2012 master’s cohort in Agricultural Economics returned to their alma mater for a reunion meeting. Faculty attendees included Wu Haitao, Dean of the School of Business Administration (SBA) and Director of the MBA Education Center; Chen Chibo, Director of the Rural Revitalization Research Center; Professors Ding Shijun, Chen Yuping, and Lang Xiaojuan; and faculty members Shi Zhanwen and Qin Xiaodi. The meeting was chaired by Deng Yuanjian, Director of the Agricultural Economics Department.



Dean Wu Haitao delivered welcoming remarks on behalf of the SBA. He reviewed the development of the Agricultural Economics discipline and expressed hope that alumni would continue to support the school. Dean Wu emphasized that ZUEL will remain a strong backing for all alumni, offering expert consulting services and promoting resource sharing to support their long-term development.



Speaking as a faculty representative, Professor Chen Chibo affirmed the professional achievements of the alumni and shared memorable moments from past teaching experiences. He extended his best wishes for their future careers and families.



Professor Deng Yuanjian noted that alumni represent the SBA’s most asset and most distinguished calling card. He expressed the school’s commitment to building platforms that strengthen alumni connections and foster shared development.


During the communication session, several alumni shared their career stories. Zang Kaibo from China Three Gorges Corporation reflected on the importance of the school, platform, and personal effort, expressing gratitude for ZUEL’s training and pledging to uphold its spirit of diligence in his professional life.



Wang Chao from the Agricultural Bank of China discussed how his strong commitment to supporting agriculture guided his career choice.


Yi Yang from the Social Work Department of Jiangxia District shared her cross-sector development experience and expressed hopes for future research and project collaboration with the Agricultural Economics Department.



Professor Ding Shijun concluded the meeting by expressing pride in the alumni’s achievements across diverse fields. He encouraged them to stay connected with ZUEL, continue striving forward, and contribute to the discipline’s development.



At the end of the meeting, alumni presented flowers to their former teachers as a gesture of gratitude, creating a touching and memorable moment. The reunion served not only as an emotional homecoming but also as a meaningful platform that strengthened bonds among faculty, students, and alumni. Supported by the leadership of ZUEL and the dedication of its alumni community, the SBA will continue to uphold its educational mission and advance its development with renewed momentum.
